Fountain Worldwide Wins P1 World Championship

Portimao, Portugual - September 29, 2007
P1 World Champioship Title to Team Fountain Worldwide
The pairing of Craig D. Wilson, throttles and James Sheppard (driver) proved almost unbeatable taking nine 1st place podium positions and three 2nd places out of a possible 13, giving Team Fountain Worldwide/King of Shaves the undisputed title of World Champions in the hotly contested and prestigious P1 series (run in 6 European countries)
“You could only call this a perfect season” said Mark B. Wilson (team technical director) with a perfect finish record in every race, the only boat in the series that can boast this. This result is even more remarkable considering that we missed the first two races of the season and clinched the title with one race to spare. When you have the fastest boat, most reliable equipment and the most experienced team you can expect nothing less than the success we achieved this year. It was no surprise; everything we did this year was thought-out and calculated, before it was implemented”.
At the close of the 2007 season Team Fountain Worldwide finished the Portuguese Grand Prix with a 170 and a 210 championship point lead over second and third place teams, respectively. This is an amazing accomplishment for a team who, until the first race in Naples, had no prior experience together in their brand new boat.
“Powerboat P1 World Champions, fantastic, I couldn't ask for more. We must thank Fountain Powerboats for building us an extremely competitive race boat, our entire race crew and staff at Fountain Worldwide, as well as Ilmor Marine who built us some incredible engines that never missed a beat. Twin Disc also has a large hand in our success as their Arneson drives coupled with SCS drop boxes performed flawlessly all season long. Over 1000 miles of testing and racing with one oil change…now that’s value. Overall, I am extremely proud of our success and of our involvement in P1 as it is a phenomenally professional organization,” said Craig D. Wilson, President of Fountain Worldwide.
